Biography: The last of his ancient kind on Skull Island. Still in his teenage years. He serves as protector and god on the island. like Godzilla, keeping everything in check, in other words restoring balance.

At first he was discovered by humans from the outside as they were doing their island survey exhibition and with setting off their seismic charge devices to measure out the surface of the island. Kong swatted away them all and retreated into the jungle. Eventually Kong fought other creatures such as Mire Squid (Octoperous) and a few Skull Crawlers, which were repsonsible for killing Kong's parents.

Then while trying to take out some of then remaining men out in the lake, he was wounded and knocked out, that is until another Skull Crawler emerges codenamed: The Big One (Ramarak) and proceed to hunt the humans down. Kong awakens to hunt and take out Ramarak. They both clashed at each other for a while with Kong using items such as a boulder to slam dunk Ramarak, a tree for a baseball bat, and even boat rutter with chain to choke and slice out Skull Devil. In the process of ramming Skull Devil into a wall. Eventually, Skull Devil had Kong's hand in her mouth, trying to get one of the humans unconscious in Kong's hand, but Kong yanked out his had, causing not only Ramarak's tongue but also his guts, killing him in the process.

With that Kong allowed the humans to leave his island as he stood and watched, proudly pointing his chest and letting out a roar. To this very day, Kong remains on Skull Island to grow out his years.

Sometime afterwards, a Skull Islander lured a Skullcrawler into a trap. Attacking from above, Kong impaled the beast through both jaws with a sharpened tree stump, killing it in a single blow, before beating his chest and roaring loudly. At the girl's insistence, he picked her up and she rode on his shoulder to the top of a tall mountain. They watched the stars as she speculated about the outside world, which she had only glimpsed from the men in their flying machines who once visited the island. She suggested they might be able to build mechanical versions of themselves who could replace them on occasion and give them time to rest and dream.

The Hawk Monster delivered a Grasshog to Kong at his temple. He picked it up and ate it before it could get its bearings, then gazed into the massive pit nearby.

As she fished, the girl was startled by a giant shape passing beneath her boat and lifting her up. It turned out to be Kong, who she scolded for the prank. The Hawk Monster interrupted, leading them to a dead Sker Buffalo inland. The bird them brought them to the culprits: three Killer Chameleons, now feasting on another creature's corpse. The girl wanted them to return to their village to form a plan with the others, but Kong, having the high ground, defiantly dropped a boulder on the monsters, pinning one's tail to the ground. After a fierce battle, the trio slayed the resilient reptiles, but Kong triggered a rock slide while finishing off the last one. He evaded several falling boulders to shield the girl just before they were buried. The Hawk Monster watched as he quickly broke free.

The girl was furious with Kong, who she said nearly killed all three of them by going on the offensive when he did. He roared at her, and she roared right back, calling him a "stupid animal," not a king. They left in separate directions. That evening, Kong washed his wounds in the ocean. Unbeknownst to him, a drop of his blood descended to the depths, awakening Cepha (Titanus Kraken Cephlapod). From her village, the girl spotted him sitting on top of the hill from before, morose, but declined to go to him. The next day, he tried to make amends by dropping an entire fruit tree into the village, crushing a cart, but she rejected it. Kong stomped away.

The Kraken launched an attack on the village, starting with the fishers. Kong rushed to their rescue when he heard the girl scream, but arrived too late. Many of the villagers were dead, and the girl trapped under debris. The Kraken waved its tentacles in the water, seeming to taunt him as he withdrew to his temple with the girl. Barely clinging to life, she called him her king and touched his face before passing away, leaving Kong devastated. He hung her compass-necklace in his temple, where Charlie would later see it, and buried her on the island’s highest mountain. As Cepha continued to linger offshore, he bellowed a mighty roar.

In 1993 Charlie and Mike washed ashore on Skull Island after Cepha destroyed their ship, Once Upon a Maritime. They found themselves in one of Kong's massive footprints as they wondered where they were.

Kong's distant roar persuaded a group of Trapdoor Crabs menacing Charlie, Mike, and Annie to retreat.

Kong grabbed a Croc Monster relentlessly pursuing Charlie and Mike out of a river and ate it in a single bite. As he walked away, Annie caught a glimpse of him and described him as a "big monkey."

While Annie and Mike were trying to help Charlie out of a pit, Kong took a tree and uprooted it before leaving.

The Hawk Monster abducted Charlie and Annie's monstrous pet Dog separately and deposited them in Kong's temple. As the pair descended a platform, Charlie noticed a mural of Kong battling monsters. Kong then swung past them in the flesh, nearly causing them to fall off the platform's side. Once they reached the ground, Charlie watched Kong sitting inside the temple with a melancholic expression, with Charlie wondering why he looked so sad. Kong fiddled with a blood-stained compass set on an alter. Cepha soon threw a whale into Skull Island to goad Kong; it landed in front of his temple. Enraged, Kong pounded the ground.

With no feasible way for his group to kill the Kraken themselves to escape Skull Island, Charlie suggested Kong as the solution, by explaining  his plan to his skeptical group: steal the necklace to lure an enraged Kong to Cepha.

Annie and Dog agreed to help Charlie with his plan. Kong appeared behind the trio as they entered the temple, watching them. They sidled over to the necklace and Annie grabbed it; as planned, Kong charged after them. Dog evaded several swings from the Titan, but was left clinging to a cliff face after Kong shook the bridge as he crossed it. He climbed out and kept going, barely avoiding Kong as he leapt across the gap. Noticing that Dog was injured and only used to riding with Annie, Charlie threw himself off the animal to allow them to escape. Kong passed over him.

Annie's mother Irene watched her and Dog draw Kong to the beach, evading Trapdoor Crabs along the way. Kong cut off Annie and Dog at the shoreline and prepared to smash them into the sand, but Annie held up the necklace and he stood down. She threw it to the ground; just before Kong could pick it up, Cepha struck, restraining and electrocuting him with its tentacles. It finally surfaced, revealing itself to be much taller than him. Kong ripped off the tentacles, but it caught him in one of its claws and lifted him into the air, then threw him. Annie and Dog found themselves pulled out to sea amidst the battle.

Kong reached underwater and threw a Rock Bug at the Cepha, who intercepted it with a tentacle. He tried to tear off a chunk of rock from a nearby mountain, but the Kraken reached him first, dragging him underwater. Pinned to the ocean floor by the Kraken as it sank its beak into his neck, Kong appeared doomed until he spotted the wreck of the Once Upon a Martime resting nearby. He smashed the Kraken twice in the head with the improvised weapon, taking out two of its four eyes, then swam to the surface. Annie had made it to shore, but Dog was still floundering. She reached out to her pet, reminding Kong of when the dying Skull Islander girl reached out to him. A wave pulled Dog under, but Kong scooped him up and deposited him on the shore. After embracing Dog, Annie prepared to apologize to Kong, but was cut off by the Kraken’s return. It again tossed him into deeper water, but he caught one of its tentacles and threw it onto a small island. Kong unleashed a barrage of punches which left the water stained with the Cepha’s blood. Annie watched in awe as he pounded his chest in victory. The necklace washed ashore near her, and she held it out to Kong. Just then the Cepha lashed him with a tentacle, still alive—so he made sure it stayed dead by picking it up and ripping it in half. He carelessly threw it at the shore, causing a tidal wave that threatened to drown Dog and Annie. While Annie was knocked unconscious and woke up in a hospital two weeks later, Dog's fate was unknown

In 1996, another group from Monarch lead by Dr Houston Brooks son, Aaron and a team of Monarch operatives arrive in the airspace above Skull Island aboard an Osprey sometime afterward, under the guise of visiting a MUTO fossil bed in Antarctica. Accompanying Aaron to the island are Evgenij Medov, a cryptobiologist, Evelyn Matemavi, whom Houston Brooks personally recruited into Monarch, Helen Karsten, a survival instructor with experience in the U.S. Navy, Cejudo, the pilot, and Walter R. Riccio, a mythographer. As soon as the Osprey penetrates the storm cell around the island, it is attacked by a flock of Psychovultures, who damage the craft and send it crashing to the island below. All the team members except Cejudo parachute out of the Osprey, landing on a cliff overlooking the island. From there, they see a flock of Leafwings flying past. The Osprey crashes to the west, and Brooks and his team decide to head that direction to try and rescue Cejudo, despite Riccio's protests. Almost immediately, they are set upon by a pack of Death Jackals, which kill and dismember Karsten while the others retreat to a cave. The Death Jackals pursue the team to the cave, but before they can finish them off, a huge fist comes crashing down just outside the cave. The hand reaches into the cave, crushing several Death Jackals. A few run out of the cave, only to be crushed underneath the beast's foot. The colossal ape stares at the cave entrance before walking away. Matemavi tends to Medov, who was mauled by the Death Jackals. She says that Medov is stable, but that they need to recover the medical supplies aboard the Osprey. Aaron is still amazed at the giant ape that rescued them, recognizing it as Kong, the creature his father had seen in 1973. Riccio alerts Aaron that they are not alone, as several Iwi, natives of Skull Island, enter the cave. A young Iwi boy who introduces himself as Ato welcomes Aaron and the others, who he addresses as "Awati." Riccio asks Ato what Awati means, to which he replies "the people who come from the sky."

The next day after recuperating in the Iwi Village, Aaron and Evelyn are awakened by Ato, who tells them that Riccio wishes them to don ceremonial body paint before they begin the pilgrimage. Brooks attempts to decline, but Riccio arrives, covered in body paint, and insists that they honor the Iwi's tradition, to which they agree. As Brooks, Evelyn, Riccio, and Medov prepare to set off, Medov remarks that the Iwi's medicinal juice has helped him heal to the point that he can walk around freely. Riccio tells them that the juice and everything on the island is sacred to the Iwi, then begins walking. Eventually they reach a ship graveyard, and enter a Dutch shipwreck which contains more murals. Riccio begins yelling and holding his head in pain, and Brooks asks Ato what is wrong with him. Ato replies that "the devils of this island whisper into his ear," and begins to say that the elders believe him to be a great danger before Riccio screams that he is experiencing another vision. He sees the Iwi first arriving on Skull Island long ago, where they come face-to-face with the last two kongs: a male and a female. As Evelyn tries to calm Riccio down, he begins raving about how he has experienced two visions already while most people would be lucky to see one in a lifetime. Riccio storms out of the ship to continue the pilgrimage, with Brooks pursuing him. Ato calls out that their surroundings are dangerous and they must not wander, and true to his warning a Sirenjaw erupts from the water and attacks them. As Brooks and the others flee the creature, they come upon a downed helicopter and several crates containing munitions from the 1973 Monarch expedition. Brooks tells everyone to grab a weapon, with Ato protesting that weapons cannot help them. Just then, a thunderous roar is heard. Ato says it is the roar of Kong, and he is coming to battle the Sirenjaw. Riccio exclaims that they are saved, and that Kong is not simply the island's protector, but a god. Brooks grabs a gun and says that if that is the case, then they will go meet God only to miss him as scavengers began to approach and feast on the fallen Sirenjaw.

As the day went on, there were moments between Aaron and Riccio with his vision episodes of how Kong came to be with his parents killed in the Great War with the Skull Devils, leaving him as an orphan and all such. Ricco finally snaps claiming that they must come face to face with great ape only to be attacked by more Death Jackals, but the group escaped. Ato gets Aaron and the others back to the village safely despite the feeding frenzy of the island's predators, where there is fortunately no sign of Riccio. Aaron declares that they need to warn everyone just as an explosion rocks the wall around the village. Riccio appears before the huge gap he opened in the wall and declares that Aaron was too late. Immediately, a pack of Mother Longlegs makes its way into the village, all while Riccio screams to the terrified Iwi not to be afraid as their savior Kong will soon come to save them. Aaron, Ato, and the others try to run for cover as the Mother Longlegs slaughter the fleeing villagers. One Mother Longlegs impales Medov on her leg, leaving Aaron as the last survivor of the Monarch expedition. He regroups with Ato and several other Iwi and aims his rifle at a Mother Longlegs in the distance, only for Ato to warn him of one rising directly in front of them. As the monstrous arachnid bears down on them, Kong appears and punches her to the ground. The Iwi begin to chant "Yatah Kong! Kong!" as Ato tells Aaron that the great Kong has finally arrived. Aaron watches in disbelief as Kong beats down on the fallen Mother Longlegs, smashing her to a pulp. Kong turns to face the rest of the Mother Longlegs, which are all approaching him simultaneously. Kong grabs one in his hand and tears her in half, after which another leaps at him. Kong catches the Mother Longlegs and throws her to her death. Two Mother Longlegs flank Kong and try to restrain him with their tendrils, but Kong responds by fatally punching both. Kong grabs the last two Mother Longlegs in each hand and smashes them together, then beats his chest victoriously as their shattered carcasses fall to the ground. Kong observes the devastation around him and hears Riccio remark "We are worthy." Kong turns his attention to Riccio, who has donned a ceremonial garb and approaches Kong, singing his praises. Kong, aware that Riccio is responsible for the recent attack, responds by crushing the madman under his fist. Kong turns his gaze to Aaron and the other Iwi assembled on a rocky outcropping. As Kong approaches, Aaron panics but Ato instructs him not to move. Aaron cowers as Kong draws near while the Iwi kneel and pray. Aaron looks up to see Kong leaning his head forward and harmlessly looking down at all of them. In this moment, Aaron finally realizes his father was right: Kong is no mere beast but an orphan with a drive to protect human life. He is not fighting for himself, he is fighting for all of them. Sometime later, Aaron records his final audio log for his father and seals it in a waterproof container, then sends it out to sea on one of the Iwi's boats. As the last surviving member of the Monarch expedition, Aaron takes on the responsibility of remaining behind on Skull Island and helping the Iwi rebuild.

In 2017, Kong was seen in pounding on his chest and roared on a dark rainy day on the island, just few miles from an Apex Cybernetics Base.

16 years has past since the village inccident, yet another group of monarch soldiers were assigned to Skull Island where a base was set up after and security boosted up since 2019 events and Ghidorah proclaimed himself King of the Titans. Kong was yet another Titan that resisted his call (aside from Godzilla and Mothra.)

In 2021, Kong now fully grown was seen doing battle with another small Titan, Spirit holy Tiger. Dr, Houston Brooks watches from the chopper as Kong lifts the Spirit Tiger in his hand, the first time he has seen Kong this close since 1973. Kong has grown triple the size he was back then, and is at least 90 meters tall. Hank Marlow told them Kong was an adolescent at the time, but Brooks hardly believed it. Now he understands, this is what an adult of his species looks like, one that has lived a life in constant battle. Brooks thinks that this is the only way a creature like Kong could have survived with no family or tribe to rely upon, as he watches Kong effortlessly snap the Spirit Tiger's neck and toss its carcass aside. Kong cracks his knuckles, as Brooks remarks in his mind that Kong has become the strongest creature on the island. He wonders if Kong knows about the storm or has sensed it yet. Of all of the creatures here, Brooks believes Kong is the only one that could survive it. As Kong walks away, Brooks thinks that being as strong as Kong would be too lonely for words.

Kong bites down on a Mire Squid nearby. Brooks recognizes that Kong knows they've been following him, but for whatever reason hasn't tried to lose them. Brooks was unable to sleep, which is why he had Delgado take him up in the chopper. Kong was not hard to find at his current size, and Brooks wonders if any of his ancestors actually lived long enough to grow that big. If they did, he wonders, how could this one island sustain them. Maybe, he considers, they were never really meant to be here. The same goes for all of the Titans, even Godzilla. As Brooks goes over all of this in his head, Kong sees a Sker Buffalo trapped under a fallen tree and lifts the tree off of it. While Brooks questions the notion that Skull Island was meant to be Kong's natural habitat, a swarm of Psychovultures approaches the chopper, which activates its exterior shock grid. The swarm descends upon Kong, who swings the tree at it. Kong bites down on one Psychovulture, smashing it with his jaws. Delgado observes that Kong is on the ropes and asks if they should intervene, but Brooks says not to as Kong is pretty used to this. A Psychovulture breathes lightning at Kong, who blocks it with the tree, igniting it. He then swings the burning tree at the swarm, killing several Psychovultures, the grabs another and crushes it in his hand. Kong turns to see the Sker Buffalo he rescued earlier has been killed, and regards it sadly.

Camazotz bursts out of the ground in front of Kong, who beats his chest and roars at the Titan. At hangar 8, Brooks briefs the pilots. He says there is an enemy Titan on the island, and that they need them to run interference so they can rescue the drilling team techicians. Since Audrey is the only one with combat experience against Camazotz, Brooks asks her to lead the attack. Nomura reassuringly puts his hand on Audrey's shoulder, telling her that they're ready when she needs them. Edwards tells Audrey they don't have enough firepower to take down Camazotz, and that their objective is only to focus on his minions and protect the evacuees, and to let Kong handle the rest.

Kong throws a large canister at Camazotz, but the bat Titan emits a supersonic shriek that causes Kong to hold his ears in pain. Camazotz then lifts Kong into the air with its talons and drops him. The pilots close in on the battle, while Camazotz's swarm prepares to meet them. The planes engage in a dogfight with the giant bats, while Camazotz glides down toward Kong. Kong grabs Camazotz by the horns and slams him on the ground, but Camazotz wraps his tail around Kong's arm and begins lifting him again. Audrey says that Kong can't keep this up and that they need to help him. Gibson says that Edwards told them it isn't their fight, but Audrey responds it's all of their fight and that she can't let Kong do this alone and that she needs her team with her. The other pilots agree and get into formation with Audrey, opening fire on Camazotz. Camazotz calls his minions to deal with the pilots, after which Kong grabs him from behind. Camazotz breaks free of Kong's grip and flies high into the air, heading directly for Audrey's plane. As she realizes her comms are down, her navigation is offline, and she has lost contact with the others, Audrey begins to despair. But then she remembers Tam and tells herself that she won't let what happened happen again. She declares they are going to win as her plane breaks the sound barrier and flies directly past Camazotz's face, blinding him. Camazotz crashes to the ground, giving Kong the opportunity to repeatedly pummel him with his fists. He drags Camazotz toward the crater he emerged from, then lifts him up by the neck and punches him directly in the face, sending him falling back into the crater with his swarm in pursuit. With her plane losing altitude, Audrey ejects and is caught in the palm of Kong's hand. She thanks Kong, and says that she just wants to say they have his back. Kong snorts in response, and she replies that he is welcome. The pilots then all return to the hangar together, victorious.

After the great battle and with the huge storm consuming Skull Island, several Iwi refugees are evacuated on Ospreys. Among them is the young orphan Jia. Kong returns to the cave in the jungle and pulls aside the vines obscuring the rest of the painting. He scowls as he sees that the entire painting depicts his ancestor locked in battle with Godzilla.

The year is 2024. Somewhere on Skull Island, Kong awakens as a flock of Leafwings flies overhead. Kong strolls into a nearby lake and stands underneath a waterfall, letting the water run down his body. Kong uproots a tree as the young Iwi girl Jia finishes putting together a doll of him. Jia approaches Kong and presents her doll, causing Kong to briefly lean forward to observe. Kong then turns and throws the tree into the sky, where it suddenly collides with a disguised barrier. The sky is merely a projection, part of Monarch Outpost #236, the Kong Containment unit. The rest of Skull Island is now enveloped in the perpetual raging storm that once surrounded it. Dr. Ilene Andrews, an anthropological linguist, observes Kong while another Monarch member says to her that the Outpost can no longer contain him, as he has grown too large. Andrews dismisses the notion of relocating Kong, as the second he leaves the island Godzilla will undoubtedly come for him, since there cannot be two alpha Titans. Jia approaches Dr. Andrews and signs to her that Kong is angry, and she signs back to Jia to wait in the car for her.

Soon the bas was then visited by another member of Monarch, Nathan Lind to meet with Dr. Illene Andrews and proposes that they have Kong lead them into the Hollow Earth. Andrews is again against the idea, saying that Godzilla will come after Kong as soon as he leaves the island. Lind says that Kong obviously cannot stay on the island, and that they can find him a new home in the Hollow Earth. He tries to convince Andrews, saying that they need to find this energy source in order to stop Godzilla. Finally, Andrews agrees, but on the condition she is in charge of Kong. Lind agrees ecstatically and kisses Andrews, then apologizes and shakes her hand. He promises that she won’t regret this, but Andrews immediately tells Jia she regrets it.

Kong is loaded onto a ship in chains, escorted by a Naval fleet, bound for the Hollow Earth entrance in Antarctica. Lind heads to the deck to greet Apex executive Maia Simmons, the CEO’s daughter, who says she is here to “babysit” them on this mission. She tells Lind about the HEAVs, which she says are far more advanced than anything else Monarch has flown and have enough power to “light up Las Vegas for a week.” On the bridge, Lind explains the plan. They will bring Kong to Antarctica, after which they will enter the Hollow Earth. He warns that the gravitational inversion will be intense, but if the HEAVs are as good as Apex says they are, they should be able to withstand it. That night, Kong becomes restless and begins pulling at his chains, prompting Jia to come onto the deck and hold out her finger to him. Kong responds by touching his finger to hers. Andrews runs to Jia and signs to her that it is dangerous. Jia responds that Kong is sad and angry. Andrews replies that Kong doesn’t understand they are trying to help him, but Jia signs that Kong doesn’t believe that. When Andrews asks how Jia knows, she replies that Kong told her. To Andrews’ amazement, Kong signs the word “home.”

In the Tasman Sea, Andrews asks Jia why she didn’t tell her that Kong could communicate with her before, and Jia responds that Kong didn’t want anyone to know. Andrews signs that everyone knows now, then leaves to talk to Lind. Lind remarks that it is incredible that Kong is capable of communication, and Andrews responds that she had tried to establish communication with him before. Though he showed signs of recognition of some basic commands, she had no idea he actually understood sign language. Lind asks if Jia could give commands to Kong, but Andrews says she cannot and is just a child. Lind says they have to try, and that they need Kong to find the energy source. Jia, meanwhile, feels vibrations through the ship and runs to Andrews, warning her that Godzilla is coming.

Battleships open fire on Godzilla as he approaches, but do nothing to slow his approach. Fighter jets fire at him, but also fail to harm him before he uses his tail to swat one out of the sky. Godzilla plows through a ship and dives, then swims up underneath Kong’s ship. Kong roars into the sea below, after which Godzilla bursts up from the water and capsizes the ship. As the ship fills with water, Lind releases Kong’s chains, allowing him to fight back. Godzilla and Kong grapple underwater, with Kong breaking free and climbing back aboard the ship as it shifts back to its original position. Godzilla circles around the fleet, and Kong leaps across the fleet onto an aircraft carrier. Kong grabs a fighter jet and throws it at Godzilla as he approaches. Godzilla climbs onto the carrier, only to be greeted by a punch from Kong. Godzilla retaliates with a vicious slap that knocks Kong down, then charges his atomic breath. Missile fire from jets interrupts his charge, allowing Kong to ram Godzilla off of the carrier. Godzilla fires his atomic breath from under the carrier, with Kong leaping off just in time as the carrier explodes. Godzilla grabs Kong in the water, trying to pull him under. Kong kicks himself free and tries to surface, but Godzilla wraps his tail around Kong and drags him deeper and deeper. Andrews tells the commander of the fleet to fire depth charges to disorient Godzilla before Kong drowns, and he gives the order. The attack works, as Kong is able to free himself and pull himself back onto the ship. Lind tells the commander to deactivate all of the fleet’s weapons and engines, in order to “play dead” and make Godzilla think he’s won. Godzilla surfaces and observes the destroyed fleet around him, and is seemingly satisfied before swimming away. Jia waves to Kong from the bridge, signing her thanks to him. Andrews asks what they will do now, since the second they move Godzilla will come back. Lind then asks how Kong deals with heights.

A fleet of helicopters and Ospreys carries Kong in a net to Antarctica and sets him down near the entry point to the Hollow Earth. Kong investigates the unfamiliar snow around him, then turns to see Jia standing on a nearby platform. She signs to Kong that his home is through the entrance, but Kong does not go through. Lind asks Andrews if Kong will go if he thinks there are others like him through there. Andrews tells Jia to tell Kong his family might be through there, and she obliges. Kong immediately charges through the entry point, and the expedition members pursue him in three HEAVs. Kong swings along the ceiling of the tunnel before falling through a crate, with the HEAVs hot on his tail. After passing through a vortex, they find themselves within the Hollow Earth. Kong runs across the landscape with the HEAVs behind him, before a Warbat flies past and destroys one. Before the Warbat can destroy another HEAV, Kong grabs the Titan’s tail and slams the beast onto the ground, killing it. A second Warbat flies at Kong, who swings the dead Warbat into it. The second Warbat recovers and constricts its body around Kong, then tries to smother him with its wing. Lind’s HEAV fires missiles at the Warbat, causing it to release Kong. Kong punches the Warbat to the ground and pounds it with his fists until it goes limp, then tears off its head and eats the contents of its skull. Kong resumes running across the landscape until he comes to a cliff near a number of floating rocks. Kong jumps off the cliff and floats across to another surface.

Kong continues moving through the Hollow Earth before coming upon a huge stone temple. Recognizing the handprint of his species, Kong places his hand over it and pushes open a door into the temple. Kong roars into the massive chamber, but his roar echoes unanswered. Kong begins walking through the temple, and finds a gigantic axe embedded in the skull of a fallen Titan. Kong pulls out the axe and wields it, beating his chest and roaring triumphantly. Kong then sits upon a giant throne.

In the Hollow Earth, everyone disembarks from the HEAVs. Maia asks where the energy source is, just before Kong’s axe begins to glow blue. Kong sees a depression in the ground in the shape of his axe, and places it into it. This causes the floor to glow and pulse with energy, revealing the sought-after energy source. Apex releases a drone to harvest the energy, but Andrews protests, saying Apex cannot simply take the find of the millennium. Maia says they can do whatever they want and has her men aim their guns at the Monarch members. The drone sends the data to Apex HQ, allowing the energy signature to be copied. Simmons excitedly tells Serizawa to prepare himself to pilot the robotic titan, Mechagodzilla, but Serizawa warns that the uplink is untested and that they can’t be sure what effect the energy will have on the mecha. Simmons dismisses these concerns and tells Serizawa to get in the chair. When the temple begins to shake, the Hellhawks roosting on the ceiling become active and attack the humans. Maia and her guards enter a HEAV and try to escape, while Kong and Monarch deal with the attacking Hellhawks. Lind, Andrews, and Jia rush to the other HEAV, but they are confronted by a Hellhawk. Lind throws a rock at it, but it only serves to aggravate the beast. Godzilla’s atomic breath breaches the temple, sending the Hellhawk flying and allowing the three to reach the HEAV. Maia orders her HEAV to fire at Kong as it tries to escape, but Kong catches it and crushes it in his hand. Kong grabs his axe and leaps through the hole created by Godzilla’s atomic breath, then begins climbing to Hong Kong.

Kong surfaces in Hong Kong, and exchanges roars with Godzilla. The two Titans begin fighting, with Kong trying to hit Godzilla with his axe. The axe gets stuck in a building, and Kong resorts to trying to physically fight the larger Godzilla. Godzilla tries to fire his atomic breath but is stopped by Kong. Godzilla frees himself from Kong’s grip, but gets struck in the head. Kong kicks Godzilla to the ground, after which he tries to fire his atomic breath again. Kong shoves the handle of the axe down Godzilla’s throat, stopping the blast. Godzilla fires again, but Kong uses the axe to block it. Godzilla tackles Kong, who embeds his axe into Godzilla’s leg. Godzilla retaliates by throwing Kong into the water, then pulls the axe out of his leg. Godzilla fires his atomic breath, with Kong running through the city to avoid it. One blast strikes Kong in the back, burning him and knocking him down. Kong gets back up, only for Godzilla to fire his atomic breath again and forcing Kong to dodge it again. Kong climbs a skyscraper, which Godzilla knocks over with his atomic breath. The surviving HEAV travels through the crater into Hong Kong, narrowly weaving between the two battling Titans. Kong grabs his axe again and climbs onto a building, then leaps off at Godzilla who fires his atomic breath. Kong blocks the blast with the axe and strikes Godzilla, creating an explosion that knocks both monsters back. The axe loses its charge as Lind declares that it appears Kong won the second round.

Kong and Godzilla get back to their feet, with Godzilla dropping onto all fours and hunting for Kong. Kong throws a crane to distract Godzilla, then leaps at him. The Titans exchange blows again, before Godzilla throws Kong into a building, dislocating his shoulder. Godzilla drops onto all fours again and aggressively pursues Kong, who kicks at Godzilla’s face as he tries to crawl away. Godzilla jumps onto Kong and claws into his chest repeatedly, then stomps on his chest twice. Kong weakly tries to pull Godzilla’s foot off of him, but to no avail. Godzilla roars angrily in Kong’s face, who answers him with a roar of his own. Godzilla takes his foot off of Kong and begins to walk away, while Kong tries to get back to his feet. However, Kong is too badly hurt and passes out.

The HEAV lands near the fallen Kong, with the occupants witnessing the battle between Godzilla and Mechagodzilla. Jia feels Kong’s heartbeat slowing and relays this information to the others. Andrews says they can’t produce a charge big enough to restart Kong’s heart, but Lind remembers what Maia said about the HEAVs producing a charge big enough to power Las Vegas for a week.

Lind flies the HEAV onto Kong’s chest and sets it to self-destruct. He quickly exits the craft and runs before it explodes. Kong is instantly revived and looks at Jia, who signs to him that Godzilla is not the enemy. Kong roars in anger, but Jia signs to him that Mechagodzilla is the real enemy. Kong watches Godzilla fighting Mechagodzilla and seems to accept this, then pops his shoulder back into place.

Mechagodzilla continues badly beating Godzilla, then grabs him by the mouth and begins prying his jaws apart. Just before Mechagodzilla can fire its proton scream down Godzilla’s throat, Kong leaps onto its back and pulls its head back, causing it to fire into the sky. Godzilla sees this and gets back up, grabbing Mechagodzilla’s arm as Kong grabs the other arm. Both Titans then pull the mecha through a building to the ground. Mechagodzilla gets back up and grapples with Godzilla and Kong. Mechagodzilla is still too powerful and knocks both Titans aside. Kong sees his axe and grabs it, then begins swinging it at Mechagodzilla. Mechagodzilla pins Kong against a building and begins spinning the blades at the end of its tail, trying to shove them into Kong’s face. Josh is unable to hack into Mechagodzilla’s control panel, which locks him out. With all hope seemingly lost, Bernie pulls out his flask and suggests they have one last drink. This gives Josh an idea, and he grabs the flask and pours it all over the control panel. This causes it to spark and explode, making Mechagodzilla momentarily hesitate. Using this opportunity, Godzilla fires his atomic breath at Kong’s axe, charging it. Kong swings his axe at Mechagodzilla’s arm, freeing himself, then continues to swing it until he hacks off the arm. Kong then cuts off the mecha’s other arm, then its leg. Mechagodzilla falls to the ground and begins charging one last proton scream before Kong strikes it in the neck, then leaps onto it and tears off its head. Kong holds up Mechagodzilla’s severed head and roars triumphantly. Exhausted, Kong then slumps down.

Andrews finds Lind among the ruins of Hong Kong and helps him through the rubble. Madison runs through the streets and finds her father, and the two share an embrace. Josh tells Mark that the whole thing was Madison’s idea, and Mark simply tells him to “shut up.” Madison introduces Mark to Bernie, who says it’s a pleasure to meet him and asks if he can invite him on his podcast sometime. Lind, Andrews, and Jia sit together, exhausted, among the rubble. Godzilla then roars loudly, drawing everyone’s attention. Kong grabs his axe again and approaches Godzilla, and the two Titans stare each other down. Kong hesitates and then drops his axe, after which Godzilla roars at him before turning around and returning to the sea peacefully.

Inside the Hollow Earth, Lind, Andrews, and Jia watch Kong from an observation post as he goes on his morning walk. Kong swings onto a cliff and pounds his chest triumphantly.
